  • The hiring manager’s team needs to figure out what technical tools production engineering needs to reduce the cost of manufacturing, new types of automation, advanced robotics, ML, vision systems, developing these tools and installation
Must haves:
  • Should have done Rigorous experimentation, Project Management, Advance Automation, Robotics, Vision Systems, Controls Engineering.
  • Automotive welding would be a great plus.
  • Should be coming from Production engineering background, understand manufacturing, machine learning, robotics controls.
  • 2 years with bachelors/1 year and Co-op exp with any company/ A new college grad is ok if they have intern or co-op experience in engineering. Still Bachelors would be preferred.
  • Onsite : 3 days in minimum office, Hybrid (Tue -Thu in office)
  • OT: 0-50% (weekday and weekend as project requires) ~15% on average
  • Travel: Limited travel at first but can go up to 80% for a 2-4 month period (Maintain 2 days home in 14 days at minimum)
  • Equipment’s: All the equipment’s will be provided by Our Client except steel toed boots.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • What percentage or how often? ~25% (Limited travel at first but can go up to 80% for a 2–4-month period, Maintain 2 days home in 14 days at minimum)
  • If International, to/from which countries? US, MX, Canada
  • Will it be for meetings/observation? Meetings and observations, no work VISA required.
  • How soon after the offer will they be required to travel? Not sure, completely dependent on the requirement
  • The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and implement innovation activities improving manufacturing competitiveness.
  • Reporting to the MIT Manager, the person in this role will support the Production Engineering Division to improve manufacturing competitiveness.
  • What you’ll be doing
  • Build a custom robot based on the need of the application using servo motors, linear rails, and controls.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand current processes and issues
  • Implement customized robotic solution to remedy stakeholders highest priority problems
  • Use strong communication skills to create proposals, negotiate roles and responsibilities, and gain approvals.
  • Develop equipment procurement scopes of work and ensure specification is met from planning to production usage.
  • Follow Our Client’s policies and procedures to ensure equipment and process safety.
  • Present reports and updates to stakeholders, management, and executives
  • Communicate with stakeholders, keep them informed and engaged, and resolve issues
  • Document the project process and maintain project documentation
Requirements:
  • Qualifications/ What you bring (Must Haves) – Highlight Top 3-5 skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Technology Engineering, Engineering & Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
  • Professional experience – at least one year of experience including co-ops and internships.
  • Experience in Robotics, including operation, teaching, maintenance, and safety
  • Experience in PLC programming
  • Proven experience in development of innovation projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience with project management including writing detailed scope of work, creating schedules, managing vendors/contractors, and providing regular status updates
  • Manage project resources, including finances and budgets, and allocate resources throughout the project
  • Proven use of computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) engineering software techniques
  • Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings
  • Excellent time management and task prioritization skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Willingness and ability to travel, domestically and internationally as required (~25%).
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
  • Added bonus if you have (Preferred):
  • Experience in construction management
  • Experience in automotive assembly plant
  • Project Management certification
  • Familiarity with SAE/ISO, NFPA/NEC, and UL standards
  • Proven experience with conducting equipment risk assessments
  • Experience deploying and troubleshooting vision systems
